Staff was amazing as well as the hotel. Originally we planned to stay for one night only. WE loved it so much that we extended it for another 2 nights. The staff was absolutely amazing at welcoming us as well as making sure we had any questioned answered. They helped us immensely to do reservations that places we wanted to eat at (we would not be able to do it ourselves, and those places were the best ones we ate in Japan). They also helped us to rent a car while the car rentals would not rent to us directly. Our daughter also happen to have a birthday so the hotel made it special for her by wishing her a wonderful birthday, decorating the room and giving her a little memory. Thank you so much for the wonderful and warm stay and your help.

The hotel offers traditional Japanese accommodation which is an experience for non Japanese. It’s leaving your shoes at the door (the extremely attentive hotel staff put them safely away for you), wearing slippers, a kimono, sleeping on futon mattresses on the floor and having fantastic Japanese breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room was a great traditional tatami mat room. Plenty of room but best to travel light here. There was water brought to our room each night as well as a Nespresso machine. Japanese breakfast was the best I'd had in my two trips to Japan. The main courses changed up each day and the numerous side dishes were great, Service at the entire hotel was excellent. Great location, close to many restaurants as well as the train and bus stations. Very helpful staff. The public bath was great too. very large and easy to use.

Authentic Japanese experience! This ryokan truly immerses you in Japanese culture, from the traditional amenities to the beautifully designed rooms and breakfast. We loved the room, complete with a cozy bed and a Japanese-style table. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. They even provided us with yakutas to wear while exploring the city, and the Japanese breakfast was delicious. We also tried the private bath, which was a wonderfully relaxing experience. The lobby had a charming atmosphere, offering complimentary teas, a small shop, and origami papers to practice while unwinding. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Japan in an authentic and comfortable way!

Location: Excellent, just 5-8 mins walk from Takayama bus & train station Osaka Airport(Save on taxi fares) just have to really pull your luggages during heavy winter time. Checkin: Smooth and seamless(Great attitude from the front desk) Room condition: 7/10 Room was traditionally designed as it is a ryokan, room is spacious. During cold winter, the aircon could not warm the whole room especially the sofa area leading to the toilet. Toilet: 6.5/10 Practical toilet facility and was very cold as it is not a heated room but just have to tolerate during winter. Bed: 6.5/10 Futon not the most comfortable feel and pillows were too soft and dont have other types of pillows to suit the different needs of travelers, we did try other places where the futons were more comfortable. Room amenities: 8/10 Kettle, local sweets were available, could get essential oil at night to scent the room and also to get free sake at night at the lobby area and a jug of ice water and 2 bottled water in the room, daily. Hotel Amenities: Hot public baths separated for males & females, couple baths were available for booking. Great to use after a long day of walking. Service level of staff: 9/10 Definitely helpful and always explaining with a smile and assisting us on our queries. Provided Origami paper and to thank them for their outstanding level of service, we did get the staff treats and they were so nice to return back small gifts in appreciation. Every evening, our futons are made up by them and in the morning, they will pack it back for us when making up our rooms.

This was by far the best place we stayed in all the visits being in Japan. The staff was incredible, they were very accommodating. The facilities were beautiful. The check in was very personal, and our luggage was taken up to our rooms. Everyone was able to choose their own Japanese attire for duration of the stay. The rooms were warm and cozy. Every night we were able to have free sake and choose an essential oil to have in the room. The Onsens were fantastic, one outdoor and one indoor. We had the Japanese breakfast all three mornings and they were different each day which was nice. During the stay you were also allowed to wear a traditional Japanese style coat which we all wore every day and in the evenings. They also offered us hand warmers which was a nice touch. The gift shop was also very cute. We cannot say enough good things about this place.

This was a wonderful place! Great for kids and couples alike. The staff was kind, attentive, and helpful. No detail was overlooked - yukatas were provided for all, and kimonos for those who wanted to go outside. Beds were comfortable and the family room was great for all. Air conditioning worked well, and I imagine sitting around the hot, warming kettle in winter would be lovely! There were activities and amenities for the kids, sake and umeshu for adults, amazing baths, delicious breakfasts, and great recomendations for dinner and activities. It was really fantastic!

Everything is nice, the room is very big, confortable and clean. The staff is welcoming and the breakfast (we took the japanese one) is simply delicious! The position is very close to the station and this helped us a lot with our movements. Still there is one major point to consider...

This ryokan strikes a reasonable balance between authenticity and catering comfortably to its predominantly non-Japanese clientele. The tatami mat room was spacious, with thicker bedding mats than perhaps completely traditional (but I'm not complaining about that - very comfortable!) There was a separate seating area with a Western sofa, small shower room and separate toilet. All very clean. Kettle and tea provided, fridge with water bottles supplied daily. The public baths (indoors and (sort of) outdoors) were very pleasant and scarcely used by the shy tourists! Breakfast was very good and plentiful (Japanese or Western choice) Location is great - just a few minutes walk from the railway station and (in the opposite direction) the old town, but very peaceful side street. Staff very attentive and spoke good English.

Their service is what sets them apart. The moment you step into their ryokan nothing is too small for them to help you with. The entire ryokan is very clean. The room style is on the traditional side. My partner loved the heated coffee table and the antique displays in the room. The breakfast experience feels authentic and on top of what you order there is still a small buffet selection. Their location is superb. Very near the train station, loads of good restaurants nearby and around, and just an 8min walk to the Morning Market. And if you are looking for an authentic experience, 10mins from the morning market there is a little home cafe called Kikaku. If you are lucky you will get to meet a 73 year old Geisha that will teach and show you the arts of her profession. We had such a good time learning and interacting with her.
